Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) establishes measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Justice Dias Toffoli, issued on Thursday (12) a resolution establishing a series of measures to prevent the transmission of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Court. According to the text, any servant, employee, intern, judge or justice who presents fever or respiratory symptoms is now considered a suspect case.

On the days of trial sessions, only the parties and the lawyers of cases included in the agenda of the day will have access to the Plenary and to the Chambers, in addition to qualified participants in public hearings. Are temporarily suspended the attendance of the external public that can be provided electronically or by telephone, the public visitation and the entrance of external public to the restaurant and the Victor Nunes Leal Library.

The document defines that Court members arriving from places or countries with sustained viral circulation and presenting fever or respiratory symptoms within 14 days of return must seek a health service, if the symptoms appear outside office hours, or the Secretariat of Integrated Health Services (SIS), if the symptoms appear during office hours.
