Advisor for Foreign Affairs of the peruvian Constitutional Court visits Chief Justice Joaquim Barbosa

The Advisor for Foreign Affairs of the Constitutional Court of Peru, Mr. Francisco Morales, visited the Chief Justice Joaquim Barbosa on behalf of the new President of the Constitutional Court of Peru, Chief Justice Óscar Urviola Hani.

Mr. Morales brought an invitation to Chief Justice Joaquim Barbosa to attend a meeting set forth jointly by that Court and the Venice Commission, which will be held in Arequipa, in the south of Peru, possibly between May 30 and 31.

The theme of the meeting will be "Citizen Access to Constitutional Justice" and the Chief Justice Joaquim Barbosa was invited to give a lecture about this topic.

Mr. Morales anticipated that the Constitutional Court of Peru also intends to organize in the future, under the “Cátedra de las Américas”, jointly with OAS and San Martin University, a meeting in Lima to discuss the theme "The State of the Constitutional Jurisprudence of Supreme Courts over the Jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights”.

Mr. Morales also informed that the new President of the Constitutional Court of  Peru has an interest to organize this year, or in 2014, the Meeting of the Supreme Courts of Mercosul.
