Chief Justice Joaquim Barbosa receives an invitation from the Sorbonne University to give a lecture about the STF

The Chief Justice of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF), Joaquim Barbosa, received last Tuesday (16) the French Jurist Dominique Rousseau, Professor of constitutional law at the University of Paris 1 - Sorbonne. He brought an invitation of the French university to Chief Justice Barbosa to give a lecture to European jurists about the functioning of the Brazilian Supreme Court.

"Chief Justice Joaquim Barbosa is well known and admired in Europe, and the way of working of the Court, specially the transparency of the judgment process, call attention of many French jurists", said Rousseau, who was a member of the High Council of the French Judiciary and currently participates in a Commission on Deontology and Ethics in the French political life, created by President François Hollande.

"We discussed the possibility of the Chief Justice visit France to establish a dialogue between Brazilian and European Jurists about the better way to provide justice for citizens, whatever their nationality," said the Teacher. The meeting is scheduled for the first week of December, depending on the agenda of the Chief Justice Joaquim Barbosa.
