Judicial cooperation is discussed by the president of the STF and the Chinese minister of Justice

In his last official appointment on the trip to China, the Chief Justice of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF, Ricardo Lewandowski, gathered on this Wednesday (4/1) with the Minister of Justice of the People’s Republic of China, Wu Aiying, on the main office of the institution, in Beijing. During the encounter, means to improve the international judicial cooperation between China and Brazil were debated. The Minister Wu Aiying made a detailed presentation on the reforms that are being implemented on the Chinese judicial system, and heard from Minister Lewandowski a report on the actions developed on his at the head of the Brazilian Judicial Branch.

Also on Wednesday, Minister Lewandowski visited a trial court on the district of Dongcheng and the Supreme Court of Beijing, where he got to know the computerized systems of monitoring audiences and judicial process, operated by a modern control center.

Besides the agenda alongside with the Chinese Minister of Justice, during the official trip to China, which began on March 28th, the president of the STF attended to several appointments. Among them, he talked to students on the Law School of the University of Beijing, he signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the president of the People’s Supreme Court of China, to promote the cooperation between the Brazilian and the Chinese Supreme Courts, he lectured on the 2015 Boao Forum for Asia, debating the role of the Judicial Branch on the BRICS countries regarding control measures for environmental pollution, and attended to  the BRICS Forum of Justice, where he participated on the panel “Judicial Protection of Natural Resources”.
