Judicial Branch will promote Human Rights Training Program

Representatives of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF), of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and of the Human Rights Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic gathered on the STF to set the guidelines of the Program.

The training on Human Rights sets the provision of courses, which can be carried out in face-to-face and distance modules, with specialists with known excellence, including internationally. The last step of the program will include monitoring the sessions of the Commission and of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Hopefully, with this initiative, in partnership with the Inter-American Human Rights System, magistrates and Judicial Branch workers from all over the country will incorporate concepts, principles and fundaments of human rights, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the provision of Justice.

"It is a pioneering initiative of the President. The Human Rights Secretariat has reported the difficulties of the implementation of International Courts of Human Rights decisions in Brazil, especially due to lack of knowledge on the tools and instruments required for the observance of human rights at regional level and at the UN", highlighted the Chief Advisor of the Plenary and one of the coordinators of this project in the Supreme Court, Fabiane Dela Rosa.
