Justice Cármen Lúcia publishes the Judiciary's statistics and highlights transparency

"The Judiciary wants to show itself in order to be perfected". In presenting the statistical report "Justice in Numbers 2017", the Chief Justice of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and president of the National Council  of Justice (CNJ), Cármen Lúcia, said that every year more transparency has been given to information on quantity and results of proceedings in all areas of the Judiciary.

According to the Justice, the Judiciary needs to open up more and more to listen to society in order to set goals from their demands and needs. In her view, this allows the performance to be consistent with what is expected of it and, at the same time, provide the judges with the conditions to judge the cases in a reasonable time.

The "Justice in Numbers 2017" reports and "Supreme Court in Action", with statistics on the Judiciary, were presented on Monday (4), in the auditorium of the Superior Electoral Court, in the preparatory meeting for the XI National Assembly of the Judiciary. Justice Cármen Lúcia stressed the importance of the prior discussion of the plans, goals and policies for the Judiciary in 2018, always with the objective of improving jurisdictional services.
