Justice Marco Aurélio, of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF), dismissed preliminary injunction in Habeas Corpus (HC) 148791, by means of which the defense of N.A.S.J. sought the revocation of his pre-trial detention. Arrested since July, along with another 101 people, as a result of "Operação Calabar", N.A. was reported for passive corruption and for allegedly be part of a criminal organization that paid bribes to military policemen in São Gonçalo (RJ) so that they would not interfere in the illicit drug trade in region.

According to the Prosecution Office of Rio de Janeiro, between July 2014 and April 2016, he would have participated in the collection and distribution of kickbacks paid by drug traffickers to the policemen of the 7th Battalion of the Rio de Janeiro Military Police. The preventive detention was decreed by the Second Criminal Court of São Gonçalo.
