The head of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the National Council of Justice (CNJ), Chief Justice Carmen Lúcia, participated this Thursday (1st) in a meeting promoted by the President of Brazil Michel Temer with the state governors, in the Planalto Palace, to deal with public security . Everything we do will be exactly to comply with the Federal Constitution, which turns 30 this year", stated the Justice.

According to the Chief  Justice, who spoke shortly after President Temer opened the meeting, democracy must ensure the citizen a system that assures him the right to feel safe. At this meeting, we are seeking the necessary public policies so that people have this right, "he said.

The Chief of Justice also mentioned the steps taken by the National Council of Justice (CNJ) to improve the Brazilian prison system, such as the new National Prison Monitoring Bank (BNMP), in compliance with the determinations of the Plenary of the Supreme Court in the judgement of Action Against the Violation of a Constitutional Fundamental Right (ADPF) 347 and Extraordinary Appeal (RE) 841526, analyzed in September 2015 and March 2016, respectively, that deal with the subject.
