Justice Dias Toffoli affirms that, in front of a changing society, the Judiciary has to transform itself

"The future is not planned without knowledge of reality and goals are not developed without the construction of indicators," said the head of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF), Chief Justice Dias Toffoli, during an opening speech at the conference of the XII National Meeting of Judiciary, held this evening (3), in Foz do Iguaçu (PR).

The event brings together the high summit of the 90 Brazilian courts, under the coordination of the CNJ, to approve the National Judicial Targets and the specific goals to each branch of Brazil's justice for 2019.

In his speech, the Chief Justice stressed the importance of the management of the judiciary following the three foundations that guide new theories in vogue in the 21st century: efficiency, transparency, and accountability. "Today, we are gathered here to promote reflections on solutions to the main challenges faced by Brazilian courts and magistrates," said Tofolli.
