Trial of actions on the omission of the Legislature to criminalize homophobia will continue on Thursday (14)

The Plenary of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF), this Wednesday (13), began the trial of two lawsuits in which is discussed if there is a legislative omission to issue laws that criminalize homophobia: the Action for the Declaration of Unconstitutionality by Omission( ADO) 26, whose rapporteur is the Justice Celso de Mello, and the Injunction Mandate (MI) 4733, in the report of the Justice Edson Fachin. At today's session, both ministers presented the reports and the Plenary heard the oral arguments of the parties and representatives of the institutions accepted as amici curiae, who are not parties but are interested in the issue under discussion. The trial will continue tomorrow (14), starting at 2 pm, with the votes of the rapporteurs.
