Parties and interested entities speak up in the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) on the criminalization of homophobia

After the reading of the reports by justices Celso de Mello and Edson Fachin, who are the repporting judges on the actions that began to be tried by the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) in the session on Wednesday (13) to discuss the alleged failure of the National Congress to edit law that implements criminalisation of homophobic and transphobic acts, the parties involved, the entities admitted as amici curiae and the representative of the Attorney General's Office (PGR) presented their positions to the Plenary. The subject is under discussion in the Action for the Declaration of Unconstitutionality by Omission (ADO) 26 and the Injunction Mandate (MI) 4733, filed by the Popular Socialist Party (PPS) and the Brazilian Association of Gays, Lesbians and Transgenders (ABGLT) .
