The National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the National Council of the Public Prosecution (CNMP) launched on Tuesday (30/4), in the Hall of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF), the website of the National Observatory of Complex Cases of Great Impact and Repercussion. The initiative, which is result of a partnership between both institutions to accelerate judicial solutions, provides a new device for monitoring, with speed and transparency, the cases monitored by the National Observatory: the breakdown of the dams in Mariana and Brumadinho (both in Minas Gerais); the fire at the Boate Kiss (RS) and the slaughter of Unaí (MG).
The National Observatory website has a panel with alerts to give greater visibility to the processing deadlines, lists showing the referral of actions from the date of each occurrence, as well as links containing proposals, information, measures implemented and decisions of the CNJ , of the Courts of Justice, of the Attorney General's Office (PGR) and of the Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) regarding the issues that are the focus of the CNJ and CNMP. The site also gathers news stories from the courts and a collection of laws and standards for consultation.
The Monitoring Panel published on the site allows users to have access to the unique number and other summary data of each of the 67,393 processes of the four cases, as well as export the data in structured spreadsheet.
Creation
The National Observatory was created in February this year by a joint initiative of the CNJ and CNMP. It has national and permanent character, with the attribution of promoting institutional integration, elaborating studies and proposing concrete measures to improve the National Justice System, in extrajudicial and judicial ways, to face specific situations of high complexity, great impact and high social, economic and environmental repercussion.
