Brazilian Chief Justice Dias Toffoli meets with the Supreme Court of Israel's Chief Justice and Deputy Chief Justice

Chief Justice of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) and president of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), Dias Toffoli, held a working visit to Jerusalem's Supreme Court on Thursday (20), where he was received by the Chief Justice Esther Hayut and the Deputy Chief Justice Hanan Melcer. At the time, they discussed common problems of the courts, and initiatives to address them, with emphasis on Hayut's interest in knowing the experience of TV Justice.

The highest authorities of the Israeli Judiciary accepted an invitation from the Chief Justice of the Brazilian Supreme Court to visit Brazil next year and instructed their advisors to develop, from now on, a joint effort aiming at sharing the Brazilian experience of a channel exclusively dedicated to the activities of the Judiciary and that transmits live the sessions of the Plenary of the STF.

Chief Justice Dias Toffoli then attended the extended meeting with the Chief Justice and Deputy Chief Justice  of the Supreme Court of Israel, along with the Justices of higher courts that are in Israel at the invitation of the Israeli Confederation of Brazil (CONIB). The STF's Justices Rosa Weber and Luís Roberto Barroso attended the audience. The entourage also visited the Court's premises and had the opportunity to follow part of an ongoing session.

This Friday (21), the schedule of the visit was completed with a talk and a tour of Jerusalem and the geopolitical situation on the border between Israel and the West Bank.
