The Chief Justice of the Brazilian Supreme Court will also have a meeting with Judge Robin Knowles of the High Court of England and Wales, with whom he will discuss bilateral cooperation issues of interest to the Supreme Court and the National Council of Justice.

Civil Procedure

The Deputy Chief Justice, Luiz Fux, spoke at the event about conciliation as the best way to resolve disputes on Monday (2). "Brazil is a country that has, in its culture, the idea of judicialization. The best form of solution is conciliation, where there are no winners or losers and the social relationship is optimized, "he said.

Fux also pointed out that the proceedings take more than 10 years to reach the supreme courts, which in turn have national jurisdiction, substituting 15,000 judges from across the country.

The Justice also pointed out that, according to CNJ data, there is a litigation in court for every two Brazilians - in a country of more than 200 million inhabitants.
