Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) holds on Monday (4) public hearing on artistic, cultural and comunication freedoms.

The public hearing convened by Justice Cármen Lúcia will begin on the afternoon of Monday (4), from 2pm. It has the objective of subsidizing the analysis of the Action against the Violation of a Constitutional Fundamental Right (ADPF) 614, proposed by Rede Sustentabilidade against Decree 9.191 / 2019, of the Presidency of the Republic, which changes the structure of the Superior Council of Cinema. The party claims that the act would aim to censor the Brazilian audiovisual production through the emptying of the council, responsible for the implementation of public policies for the development of the national film industry.

The hearing will be held in the session room of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court's (STF) Second Chamber, and it will be broadcast by Justice TV, Radio Justice and by the STF's YouTube channel. The meeting will continue on Tuesday (5), from 10am.
