Justice Alexandre de Moraes receives final text of the organized anti-crime package to be voted in the Legislative Chamber

Justice Alexandre de Moraes, of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF), received on the morning this Tuesday (19) the final report with proposals to combat organized crime that will be voted in the House of Representatives. The text was delivered by the president of the House, deputy Rodrigo Maia (DEM / RJ), and nine members of the working group created to analyze the proposals to update the Criminal Law in Brazil.

After the meeting, Maia said he will try to vote the urgency for the organized anti-crime package already next week and, if there is agreement, the merit of the proposal in the House plenary. The justice congratulated the result of the work that, after nine months, gathered in a single text 90% of the content proposed by the committee of jurists chaired by him and 75% of the Draft Bill 882/2019, forwarded by the Minister of Justice, Sérgio Moro, which resulted in PLs (Bills) 10372/2018 and 10373/2018.

Now the content of the three proposals will be processed jointly in the National Congress. "The projects will not reduce crime from one hour to the next, but will change the mentality of fighting organized crime," said the justice.
