Justice ratifies agreement between federal government and Roraima for assistance to Venezuelan immigrants

Brazilian Federal Supreme Court's (STF) Justice Rosa Weber approved an agreement between the Union and the state of Roraima to allow the federal government to continue redistributing Venezuelan immigrants and refugees to other states while the humanitarian crisis continues in the neighboring country. The decision is part of the Originary Civil Action (ACO) 3121, in which the state government calls for the adoption of measures by the Union in relation to the impacts of the migratory flow on the Brazil-Venezuela border.

In addition to this measure, the federal government should maintain the "Reception Operation" and give greater attention, in the short term, to the problem of the street population, including through agreements with social assistance agencies. It was also agreed that the screening of immigrants should work as a sanitary barrier of a preventive nature and epidemiological control.
