Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) receives over 36 thousand Brazilian and foreign visitors in 2019

01/30/2020

More than 36,000 visitors passed through the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) in 2019 by the Open Door STF Program. Established to receive visits from those interested in the workings of the Supreme Court, the program provides a tour of the history of Brazilian justice. Built alongside the new capital in 1960, the Supreme Court building, one of the important architectural works signed by Oscar Niemeyer at the Praça dos Três Poderes ("Three Powers Square"), is a definite place to come while visiting the country's capital.

Most of the visitors are law students at Brazilian law schools and universities, but there is also a lot of interest from architecture students, who receive technical information about the buildings - especially the headquarters building, Oscar Niemeyer's project erected at the time of Brasilia's construction - provided by servers from the Court's architecture and engineering areas. Another specific request is from Communication students, interested in knowing the TV and Radio Justiça studios.
