Justice Celso de Mello orders the dismissal of a request for a criminal framing against the President of the Republic

Justice Celso de Mello, of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered the dismissal of a request for criminal framing against the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, presented by Senators Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede/AP) and Fabiano Contarato (Rede/ES), in Petition (PET) 8803. The Justice received a request from the Attorney General's Office and denied follow-up to the PET, since it is the Public Prosecutor's Office that is in charge of public criminal proceedings, "which acts, in this condition, with exclusivity, on behalf of the State," said the Justice.

The senators pointed to the alleged practice of the crime of ideological falsehood as a result of a decree to exonerate Maurício Valeixo from the post of director general of the Federal Police, published with the signature of the then Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sérgio Moro.
