Modernization: Supreme Court moves forward in the digitalization of the physical collection of cases


Aiming to transform the Supreme Court of Brazil (STF) into a 100% digital Court, to encourage and facilitate access to Justice, the Court has implemented, in recent years, a modernization process that involves, in addition to technological adaptations and the expansion of the reach of the Virtual Plenary, the conversion of the Court's physical case records to electronic media.

With the resumption of jurisdictional activities last week, Resolution 719/2021 was issued, suspending until March 1st the counting of time limits for physical proceedings. During this period, a concentrated effort will be made to conclude the digitalization of the pending amount of physical processes. In the month of January alone, more than 1,000 processes were digitized. It is noteworthy, however, that the STF has less than 900 physical processes in progress, which represents 3% of the collection.
